Father Peter Mentis
Fr. Peter is a native of Toronto, being raised in Don Mills. After receiving his Bachelors of Commerce from the University of Toronto in 1981, he worked as an auditor with Revenue Canada until 1984. From 1984 until 1988 he studied at Holy Cross Greek Orthodox School of Theology in Boston, Massachusetts; receiving his Masters of Divinity.
In 1988, Fr. Peter married his wonderful wife, Presbytera Melanie, who hails from Worcester, Massachusetts. They have two beautiful children, Nicholas and Alexandra.
Fr. Peter was ordained to the Holy Priesthood in 1990. He served at St. George’s Greek Orthodox Church in Toronto until December 1991. Since then he has been the Priest at Prophet Elias’ Greek Orthodox Church. His main areas of ministry have been community growth, administration, youth, and Church construction. He is currently Director of the Department of Religious Education of the Holy Metropolis of Toronto (Canada), as well as Professor of both, Ethics, and Administration and Growth, at the Toronto Orthodox Theological Academy.

Deacon Drew Maxwell
Deacon Drew is a native of Phoenix, Arizona, who has resided in Canada since 2007. A former middle and high school teacher, he has spent most of his professional life as an educator. He completed a Master’s Degree in Theology and Church History at Union Theological Seminary in New York City in 2002. Deacon Drew is currently a doctoral student of Early Church History and Theology at the University of St. Michael’s College at the University of Toronto. During his studies at Union Theological Seminary he became more aware of the Orthodox Church and subsequently joined through Chrismation in 2004. He was ordained a Deacon in March of 2009 and looks forward to a rewarding ministry at Prophet Elias Church as Youth Minister for some years to come.
Deacon Drew married his wife Kathleen in 1999 in California. They have two young children who light up their lives on a daily basis. For fun, Deacon Drew enjoys playing basketball, singing, playing video games and reading.
